Broadcasters

HowTo

Simple instructions for every broadcasting feature in your Battlecam room. Open My room from the account menu, then use the header and the side drawer to run the show.

Open your room

Your main room is where people watch you live.

  1. Sign in, open the account menu, and choose My room.
  2. Allow the browser to use your camera and microphone when prompted.
  3. Use HTTPS (or battlecam.com) so the browser can unlock the camera.

If the camera is blocked, open the site settings for this address and allow camera access, then reload the room.

Go live from the lineup

Guests and co-hosts join the stage through the lineup.

  1. Click Connect your cam in the room header to join the lineup.
  2. When it is your turn, your camera publishes automatically.
  3. Click Stop in the header to leave the stage and turn the camera off.
  4. Room owners can enable or disable the lineup from Room controls.

Switch cameras

If more than one camera is available, pick which one streams.

  1. While you are on stage, numbered camera buttons appear in the header.
  2. The highlighted button is the active camera.
  3. Click another camera to switch. The stream keeps going without leaving the stage.

Your last camera choice is remembered for the next time you go live on this browser.

Room controls drawer

Owners and moderators manage the room from the side drawer.

  1. Open the drawer on the stage to see Room controls, Standby, Ticker, Stream, Banner, and External broadcast.
  2. Use the chevron on the drawer edge to expand or minimize it.
  3. Each control shows an on state when that feature is active.

Channel name

Rename what viewers see in the header and on Channels.

  1. In Room controls, click Channel name.
  2. Enter the new title and save.

Lineup controls

Decide who can queue for the stage.

  1. Enable lineup so viewers can click Connect your cam.
  2. Disable lineup to stop new people from joining the queue.
  3. Clear lineup removes everyone waiting without ending the current broadcast.

Chat

Room chat sits beside the stage.

  1. Viewers type in the chat box when chat is enabled.
  2. Use Disable chat / Enable chat in Room controls to lock or open chat.
  3. Use the emoji button for stickers and keyword shortcuts like .
  4. Hide or show the chat panel with the chat icon in the header.

Voting

Let the audience score broadcasters with love and poop votes.

  1. Enable voting in Room controls. Vote bars appear on the stage tiles.
  2. Viewers cast votes while voting is on.
  3. Reset votes clears the tallies for a fresh round.
  4. Disable voting when you want the bars hidden.

History recording

Save live sessions when history is enabled.

  1. Enable history in Room controls so live sessions can be recorded.
  2. Disable history to stop new recordings for the room.
  3. Recordings appear in room history when the session ends and processing finishes.

Turning history off stops an in-progress recording for that room.

Two cams and battles

Split the stage between two broadcasters.

  1. Enable two cams so a primary and next broadcaster can share the stage.
  2. Battle against owner pairs a guest with the room owner when that option is on.
  3. Toggle owner cam to put the owner on stage beside the guest, or remove the owner tile.

Private password

Lock the room behind a shared password.

  1. In Room controls, open Set password / Private password.
  2. Set a password so only people who know it can enter.
  3. Copy the password to share it, or clear it to make the room public again.

Moderate viewers

Owners and mods can act on people in the room.

  1. Click a user’s name or avatar in chat or the lineup while you have control.
  2. Choose kick, ban, or grant moderator as needed.
  3. Kicked users leave the room immediately.

Standby media

Play videos or links while nobody is live.

  1. Open Standby in the drawer.
  2. Add videos from your library or paste a direct media link.
  3. Reorder or remove items in the queue. They play in order when the stage is off air.
  4. Preview an item before applying it to the room.

Ticker

Show a scrolling message across the stage.

  1. Open Ticker in the drawer.
  2. Enter the text, adjust speed or style options, and show it.
  3. Hide the ticker when you no longer need the message on screen.

Stream picture or video

Overlay a picture or video on the live stage while you are broadcasting.

  1. Go live first. Stream media stays disabled until you are on stage.
  2. In the drawer, open Stream media and click the ··· button.
  3. Search your photos or videos, or click ··· beside the search field to browse.
  4. You can stream any of your media while broadcasting, including private items.
  5. Choose position and options, then Stream. Stop streaming removes the overlay.

External broadcast

Push the room out to RTMP or HLS destinations.

  1. Add destinations under your profile Broadcast tab first.
  2. Start the room live, then open External broadcast in the drawer.
  3. Select destinations, quality (480 or 720), and optional chat or vote overlays.
  4. Start to push the feed. Stop when you want the external streams to end.

External broadcast only starts while the room itself is live.

Follow the host

Viewers can follow the room owner from the header.

  1. While watching someone else’s room, use the Follow button in the header.
  2. Following helps people find hosts again from profiles and social lists.
